Tim is originally from southeast Iowa. He has twin children, a boy named Jack and a girl named Evie. He loves anything outdoors, fishing, canoeing, spending time with his children and wife Chelsea. He especially loves the diversity of working in small town eye clinics; every day is a good variety of challenges to help people solve.
Ryan spends most of his days having his beautiful family, Nash, Nolan, and wife Kylee, and all his excellent Axis Vision Care staff making him look good. Without them life and work would likely be very unorganized. He enjoys getting to know his patients on a personal level. Eye care is engaging and fits his personality. If he's not schooling Dr. Courtney in the art and techniques of bass fishing he is likely canoeing one of the many rivers of eastern Iowa, planting trees, or just enjoying the outdoors.
Samantha Harris (Ellingson) is a Washington native that is practicing in our Tiffin and Washington locations. She graduated with Highest Distinction from the University of Iowa with a Bachelor of Science degree. She then traveled south to Memphis, Tennessee to study optometry at Southern College of Optometry. During her time at optometry school, she externed at Wolfe Eye Clinic in West Des Moines to gain knowledge about ocular disease management. She then traveled out to Salt Lake City, Utah to learn about pediatric optometry and vision therapy and rehabilitation. Dr. Sam graduated on May 4th, 2021 from Southern College of Optometry Summa Cum Laude and as the Valedictorian of her class.
Within the clinic, Dr. Sam sees any and all patients. She will be focusing much of her time on infant and pediatric care. She will also be managing patients with binocular vision problems including reading difficulties, headaches, lazy and/or crossed eyes, etc. This is where her passion lies, and she is very excited to bring this aspect of optometry to Axis Vision Care.
In her spare time, Sam and her husband enjoy boating, biking, and playing with their two dogs and cat. They are excited to be back in Iowa and be surrounded by family and friends again.
Cade is originally from Hedrick, IA and is a Pekin High School graduate. He went onto Simpson College where he studied Biology and played basketball for the storm. After graduation, he became a Hoosier by attending Indiana University School of Optometry. During his fourth year rotations, Dr. Millikin spent time at a VA Medical Center in South Carolina and a native Alaskan hospital in western Alaska where he gained invaluable knowledge providing eyecare to these populations.
When Dr. Millikin is not seeing patients in the office, you can likely find him helping out on his family farm or boating on Lake Rathbun.
